Wild Island Gin

Rockburn

Rockburn Pinot Gris 2021

The description: A wonderful bouquet of whites spices, a core of fresh pear and apple, wild white flowers and a white sand mineral quality. Youthful, complex and enticing. Satin-cream textures lead to a core of white fleshed orchard fruit flavours, some spice and mineral and acontrasting acid line. Refreshing, balanced, even and lengthy. Well made and ready to drink from 2022 through 2026.
The opinion: I agree and think we are drinking it at exactly the right time!

Pretty dark in the glass-bramble, wild grass and raspberry, wet mahogany beach house outdoor shower. — a year ago

Burn Cottage

Moonlight Race Central Otago Pinot Noir 2018

The last time I was kind of disappointed by this wine. Some could say 'a bottle variation, it happens more often with biodynamic wine making'. Yes, that makes sense, but my bet is on my perception variation. So I took one more bottle. And it was good! Wild strawberry, forest floor and meat notes. Almost perfectly balanced, juicy palate, long aftertaste. — 3 years ago

Felton Road

Calvert Pinot Noir 2019

This is excellent Pinot noir from Felton Road from a ripper than average year. Black cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry, forest floor, dried orange peel, and already a hint of mushroom. Terrific balance, a long finish and a lovely wine — 2 years ago

Greywacke

Wild Sauvignon Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2020

So, just arrived in Australia this morning for some wine exploring, and my wife wanted a wine we could sip, so here we are drinking Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc. As fine as the “regular” Greywacke SB is, this wine seems another level up, gooseberry aromas and flavors, really complex, actually reminds me of the early Cloudy Bay SBs we drank a fair amount of after visiting the Cloudy Bay winery back in 1994. — 6 months ago

Marlborough Chardonnay 2016

In your face, exquisite bouquet- straw bread salt fruit, and a taste to match.
I think I like this even better than the Wild ferment SB
