If you told me a couple months ago that I would be giddy with excitement over getting to taste a Riesling from Mesa County, Colorado I would have said you were crazy. And then I met @Kathleen Ward. Her yet to be released 2017 Libelle Riesling from Grand Valley AVA is downright delicious. Lime blossom, citrus zest, and wet stone, with some mint oil that dances around the edges. It’s ultra-refreshing, but with just the right amount of saltiness that keeps you coming back for more. I would happily wait in line to buy this. — 8 years ago

Lovely day in Morrison with the gang for our ward cody and clint show!!!
Suggestion from the gentleman at the bar.
Dry dark fruit. Tannens are very present. Definitely get the bottle, Jodi. Who drinks just a glass? — 4 years ago
for me it has its own style of both relatively sharp acidity & slightly faded fruitfulness, like Grand Reserva. it seems it needs more time like at least 3-5yrs for matured pleasant cedar and forest like aromas.
PRODUCTION
Fruit is sourced from a variety of sites ranging from the sandy gravel soils of the Firgrove and Raithby ward to sandy/loamy granite soils of the Jonkershoek ward. In essence, it is a blend of Stellenbosch Cabernets showing the variety of terroirs to be found, all harvested by hand at optimal ripeness. Five days fermentation in open concrete tanks with temperature control and regular manual plunging and pump-overs. The malolactic fermentation was carried out in lined concrete tanks after which the wine was transferred to 225L French oak barrels (25% new oak) where it was matured for 20 months. — 6 years ago

91° at 8pm calls for (really, really good) Sauvignon Blanc. Has a somewhat NZ flavor profile, but on steroids... a larger than usual frame of white peach, lime, gooseberry, and flint, with a touch hay... props to @Kathleen Ward for helping notice the hay. — 8 years ago

Dynamite… from Ward Room — 5 years ago
Suuuper light body and mouth feel. Suuuper acidic, but delightfully so and balanced with lovely bright cherry notes. Slight clay underpinning to provide texture and structure. — 6 years ago
Just perfect with a sushi late lunch meal at little joint Toshi near Ward. Creamy texture and frothy balance, a bit more complex and reserved than recall. Age? Good way to ring in New Year for Willie. — 7 years ago
Sour redcurrants, soft oak vanilla, hospital ward plasters, forest floor, there's a hint of rosemary in there- all on the nose. You smash it back and the cherries and violets come out, fresh, incredible acidity and tannin structure. Probably shouldn't have opened in 2018 but there's plenty going on here and the fresh primaries and unreal levels of fresh acidity make this a joy. — 8 years ago
