Nose is reticent but what is there is on the weedy side. There’s also some pungent minerality, with some nice cassis fruit struggling to peek through. Deep and savory in the mouth, with very nice acids keeping things youthful-feeling. Still a fair amount of very fine tannin. This reminds me of a good Listrac. Still has years to go. — a year ago
Balanced, delicious, significant cherry notes. — 5 years ago
Made by Basilica Cafaggio, this is a great value in a Gran Selezione Chianti. I didn’t make the mistake I made last year of only buying one bottle. Bought a half case and will let it age some in the cellar. — 22 days ago
I have no idea why @Delectable Wine puts “Marks & Spencer,” which I think is a British retailer, in the ID of this wine. Anyway, it’s a characterful wine. Very dark color for a Chianti Classico. It’s got an interesting nose of black cherry, a substantial tomato leaf note, leather, and rocky gravel. Rather energetic in the mouth, with deep, dark cherry, that turns savory and minerally very quickly. A bit more soft tannin than many annatas, and zesty acids. Lot of bang for the buck here. — 2 years ago

Had a ruby red color and the color was consistent throughout the glass. Smelled of cherry or red fruit. Tasted of red fruit and was a little bitter. Felt like it coated the mouth. — a day ago
