On the palate flavors of blueberry and plum with licorice, cedar, espresso and spicy herbs. Fine ripe tannins, medium finish ending with fruit, cedar, spice and herb character. Very youthful for almost 20y, both in colour and on the nose, with the primary fruit still very present - black cherry, a bit of brambly blackberry, with some leather & cedarwood in the background. Still very fresh & enticing.
Brilliant mouthfeel, medium bodied with present but already mellowed tannins and fresh, juicy acidity. Good depth & great length. Fruity yet savoury, cool, elegant and so drinkable. The bottle empties dangerously fast.
