Earthy nose with blueberries, black currants, bell pepper, green vegetables, wet leaves, forest floor, smoke, spices, tobacco leaf and black pepper.
Medium bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and spicy on the palate with blueberries, black currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, spices, vegetables, bitter herbs, peppercorn, dark coffee, tobacco leaf, dark chocolates diet cola and vinaigrette.
Long finish with soft tannins and tangy cherries.
This 10 year old Italian Amarone is drinking very nicely now. Soft, smooth and elegant. Earthy nose and still lots of fruits on the palate.
Good by itself or with food, like grilled chicken or steak. I paired it with chicken sausage on the grill. Thank you Michael for sharing.

For my 2500th review on #vivino, here is a wonderful Italian gem.
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish /brick rim.
Nice nose of blackberries, blueberries, black currant, black plums, raspberries, earth, forest floor, smoke, vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, spices, dark coffee, pencil lead, vegetables, vinaigrette and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity, long legs, smooth and velvety.
Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, strawberries, currants, vanilla, wood, spices, peppercorn, green herbs, vegetables, spices, tobacco, herbs and peppercorn.
Long finish with soft tannins and black pepper.
This 18 year old Amarone, is drinking very nicely now. Still enjoyable all by itself or with food. Nicely balanced with lots of vegetable notes. Spicy and complex with a velvety mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle, and better as it opens up (60 minutes). This will not last for long, so if you have any, drink now.
Thank you Michael, for sharing this delicious wine with me.
I paired it with a charcuterie board of Meats and cheeses.

Roasted almonds, red currant, cherry liquor, nutmeg, clove, anise, and baked plums. Juicy on the palate with baked dark fruit - think brambleberry pie. Lively, well balanced and delicious. Best QPR wine I’ve ever had. — 8 days ago
Pretty good Amarone. Lots of dark plum, current and prune flavors. Aromas of baking spices and dried herbs. Just a bit astringent and disjointed with a little bit of sweetness. — 5 days ago
Lush fruits — rich with dark cherries and figs and a bit of chocolate. Still young but a beautiful wine that paired exceptionally well with our pasta dishes. — 5 days ago
Dark ruby color; full bodied on the nose with oak; forest fruits and winter bush. Fruity, bit of licorice. Slight tannins. Perfect for slow cooked meat, i.e. brisket — 4 days ago
