Veneto Corvina Blend

Costasera Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Corvina Blend 2015

Powerful full bodied wine. Dark fruits with a hint of leather. Noticeable tannins and good complexity. Nice long finish. Quite liked it, but better value with other Amarones. $45 — 7 days ago

Giacomo Montresor

Amarone della Valpolicella Corvina Blend 2015

Dark garnet hue. Aromas of chocolate, cranberry, dried fruit, earthy, eucalyptus, licorice, prunes, raspberry, and tar. Medium-plus body, with medium-plus tannins and medium-plus acidity. Smooth and rounded on the palate with a touch of oak on the finish. — 4 days ago

Graziano Prà

Amarone della Valpolicella Corvina Blend 2010

I know that Prà is better known for their whites, but this 12 year old red is drinking really well. Light and restrained, but with a lot of mineral character, tobacco, and blackberry. Reminds me of Beaujolais. — 18 days ago

Valpolicella Corvina Blend 2018

Red and black fruit with a slight raisiny quality, but not sweet. Wild herbs and balsamic. Lush, full body and balanced. Better than I expected it to be. — 9 days ago

Cantina di Soave

Araia Classico Recioto di Soave Corvina 2009

9.1

@Delectable Wine there is no Corvina in this wine…
Decent dessert wine, oxidized aromas mingled with traditional apricot, yellow peach, candied pineapple, cotton candy and burnt sugar to make for an intriguing nose. Probably peaked 4-5 yrs ago, but still enjoyable. Bit syrupy on palate, viscous & sluggish, lacking acidity, really taste RS- decadence

Riserva Amarone della Valpolicella Corvina Blend 2015

Delectable Wine
9.3

The 2015 Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva is heady and sweet on the nose, as confectioners' spice and dusty cherries give way to hints of pipe tobacco. It’s rich and velvety yet maintains admirable freshness, as minerals and sweet tannins add tension toward the close. I like the contrasts of salty and sweet here, as notes of dark chocolate and balsam herbs cascade across the palate. This tapers off lightly structured and staining, with primary concentration leaving pretty florals and hints of licorice. Color me impressed; the 2015 is a wildly successful Amarone Riserva. I tasted this in February 2021, yet today's performance is definitely a step up. (Eric Guido, Vinous, April 2022)

Giuseppe Quintarelli

Valpolicella Classico Superiore Corvina Blend 2013

Two weeks without a decent red wine and now back with a banger. This wine is beautiful in its duplicity. On one side dark cherries, tar, plums and leather but then at the same time light with lovely acidity. A joy to drink! — 14 days ago

Tenuta Sant'Antonio

Monti Garbi Ripasso Valpolicella Corvina Blend 2017

My first Ripasso!!! Wow!!! Ruby colored with wood and cherry aromas. This is a big bold wine that is very smooth. It’s boldness reminds me of a Cabernet Sauvignon. Cherry, wood, and plenty of spice notes with a fairly long finish. Went well with our Leg of Lamb! — 5 days ago

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Corvina Blend 2013

Delectable Wine
9.5

The 2013 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico pulls you toward the glass with an intense display of crushed raspberries and clove, along with hints of tangerine and smoke. This is cool-toned and energetic, with exotic sweet spices and hints of mint giving way to depths of ripe cherries, confectionery spice and cocoa. It possesses a nervous core of acidity, yet also a totally classic feel. There’s a citrusy twist of sweet and sour and vivid inner rose and autumnal spices. The 2013 is powerful and deep, yet also full of energy, tapering off long and lightly structured. It's just begging for a little time in the cellar to fully come together.
