Veneto Corvina Blend

Classico Amarone della Valpolicella Corvina Blend

Dark ruby in color with a brick rim.

Beautiful nose of cherries, blueberries, wood, cloves, vanilla, oak, licorice, spices, chocolates, wet leaves, smoke, tobacco leaf, black tea and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with cherries, dried blueberries, raisins, wood, light vanilla, spices, tobacco, spice box, earth, light vegetables, coffee, dark chocolates, black pepper and leather.

Nice finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a great Amarone Della Valpolicella. Well balanced with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel. Soft and smooth with nice elegance.

Could use a few more years in the bottle to mature, but it is drinking nicely now. Needs 4 hours to open up properly and show all that complexity.

Delicious and yummy.

Enjoyable by itself or with food. I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers.

15% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

— 4 days ago

Ok, so this one was the crowd’s favorite for the evening. It’s pretty heavy I think. I prefer lighter wines. — 4 days ago

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Corvina Blend 2013

Amarone excellence once again! 2013 Amarone della Valpolicella classico! Almost perfection in a glass! The color has the classic European brownish tint to the deep purple color. The bouquet has that ripe plum pudding and violets on a hot summer day. The palate is tantalized with sweet dark berries and cherries followed by spice and chocolate. Then flavors of cigar and leather fold in the dry finish with slight mint like tart ending. Yummy! My absolute favorite Amarone! — 14 days ago

Amarone della Valpolicella Corvina Blend 2008

Oakton wine. Best wine I’ve had all year! C inky, opaque with sediment; N date, plum, dark fruit, violet, sweet, perfume; T Heavy mouth feel, pungent flavor, date, plum, dark fruit with hints of eucalyptus and menthol on aftertaste; sweeter at first then acidity came out as opened up; long, long finish; enjoyed with pasta puttanesca — 5 days ago

— 4 days ago

Bardolino Corvina Blend 2015

Richness comes through but without weight. This is a light to medium bodied wine best served cool. The great thing about this wine is it's finish that resolved with a delightful peppery note. I'd think this would work well with a meaty fish. — 15 days ago

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Corvina Blend 2011

Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.

Fruity nose of black cherries, plums, blueberries, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, spices, dark chocolates, coffee, peppercorn, earth, light vegetables, pencil lead and peppercorn.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with cherries, strawberries, red currants, licorice, tobacco, herbs, vegetables, spices, peppercorn, vinaigrette and spices.

Medium finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.

This is a great Amarone. Not fully balanced, yet enjoyable by itself or with food. Showing nice complexity and a great mouthfeel. Intense, smooth and rich

Needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up (2 hours). Died after 4 hour in the decanter, and became too acidic (... but there was not much left anymore😉)

I paired it with light appetizers, cheeses and smoked Meats.

Grapes were dried for 3 months before pressing. Aged for 30 months in Slavonian oak barrels.

A blend of 65% Corvina, 20% Rondinella, 5% Molinara and 10% Croatina.

Mara Ripasso Corvina Blend 2013

Verona area grapes, using ripasso. Very dark, but after decanting it for an hour, it was mouth-filling, yet with lighter flavors than sour cherry and blackberry. There were clear hints of lavender. This wine begs for heavy pasta sauces. — 2 days ago
