This wine has a medium ruby hue (trending deep in color) with robust and layered aromas and flavors that include strawberry sauce (think fruit-on-the-bottom yogurt), raspberry coulis, tart cherry, rose water, tomato leaf, mint, black licorice, anise, vanilla, and pipe tobacco.
On the palate, it’s dry, with medium (+) acidity, a medium body, medium alcohol (13%) and medium fine grained, soft tannins.
It’s a delicious and versatile wine. And fun to taste a California expression of Sangiovese outside of its homeland in Italy! — 4 months ago
Black and blue fruit aromas and flavors, solid acidity, a bit of ABV (14.5%) shows in the longish finish, close to, if not fully mature, very good! — 23 days ago
Interesting, it shows like a Cahors with a lovely violet purple nose and rustic tannin on the palate. It will be interesting to see what age delivers. — 2 years ago
2023 bottle experienced January 2024. Very smooth and nice. It was very good with a filet mignon. — 25 days ago
Medium to light body. Spicy, cherry, light tannins to start. As it opens, spiciness increases and raspberry emerges. — 2 months ago

This wine is dark purple/garnet in the glass. The nose offers up considerable black fruit, such as blackberries, plums, and blackcurrant. It also offers up considerable oak effect, even though the wine’s exposure to wood was minimal. The oak comes through heavily on the palate as well, obscuring some nice dark fruit flavors. The artwork on the label is nice, but the artwork inside the bottle can’t live up to it. — 13 days ago
