2024. The Dry Hop Monte is a vintage Pét-Nat made from old-vine Chardonnay from the Carroll Vineyard in Edna Valley fermented with a blend of aromatic hops. As a lover of dank and juicy IPAs, the NV Dry Hop Pét-Nat has been one of my favorites. The Monte kicks it up a bit! — a month ago

Est. in 1987, belongs to Champagne Taittinger (personal favorite) considered the concept in 1947 in the mind of Claude Taittinger. 138 acre estate is situated in the Carneros appellation of CA. A blend (changes ea year) of 35% Chard, 62% Pinot Noir & 3% Pinot Gris, aged 3 1/2 years in the bottle. Aromas of stone fruit and toasty spice. Raspberry and peach flavors, complex, with citrus notes in a fine mousse with good bubble flow. Well structured, vibrant lingering finish ending with mineral tones. Will benefit from some aging. — 7 years ago

The elegant 2021 Landmark (Hop Kiln Estate) displays a very attractive Bing cherry, black fruit appearance. It is medium >full with a deep ruby red appearance, perfumed red fruit aromatics and a mouthful of berry/cherry flavors. Well balanced and structured with ample fruit and crisp acidity, it delivers refined tannins at the spicy long finish. Overall a very classy and restrained Pinot that gets attention but doesn’t demand it. — 13 days ago
