Nicely in its prime. Violets, asphalt, a bit drying tannines and a simple but pleasant finish. — 3 years ago

Being a big fan of bold European reds, this is a go-to for me and my wife. $13 at Costco and enjoyable for a wide spectrum due to its (for the price range) incredibly smooth finish and levels of flavor. For a wine priced for regular consumption, this is as good as it gets. — 9 years ago

First time I tasted a Chinato, and am not sure if this is representative of a typical Chinato.
Choke full of herbal and spice notes: anise, cinnamon, clove, licorice, menthol, and raisin. Not as sweet and viscous as I would expect out of a dessert wine - I can see it as an aperitif also. There is subtle yet persistent bitterness throughout, which I happen to like. — 2 years ago
