A couple of the recent reviews cite high tannin. Not at all tannic, soft, easy, acid is low and in cahoots with the tannin. Smoky bacon, meaty, leather, forest floor. Redcurrant, cranberry, perfumed, herbal, mineral. Tobacco and tar. A little too fat, ripe and dried fruit for an elegant Barolo but at £23 for an 11 year old decent Barolo. Good. Co-ops can do good stuff. — 11 years ago
Very good inky fruit. Damsons and cranberry. Slight whiff of funk/ cheese? Bravo! — 12 years ago
Nicely in its prime. Violets, asphalt, a bit drying tannines and a simple but pleasant finish. — 4 years ago
Dry dry dry but oh so fine! Lingering taste of violet and liquorice with a beautiful depth and richness — 5 years ago
Tannic but smooth. Perfect. — 10 years ago
Свежее, лайм, желтое яблоко, трава. Умеренная кислотность, грейпфрут, курага. А аромате однозначно узнается совиньон, вкус чётко от шардоне. Прикольно) — 11 years ago
Nice golden colored white dry wine. Refreshing taste and fruitish aroma. Best enjoyed with some vegetarian food or goat cheese. — 11 years ago

Perfect accompaniment to a steak and mushrooms... — 9 years ago
Being a big fan of bold European reds, this is a go-to for me and my wife. $13 at Costco and enjoyable for a wide spectrum due to its (for the price range) incredibly smooth finish and levels of flavor. For a wine priced for regular consumption, this is as good as it gets. — 11 years ago

First time I tasted a Chinato, and am not sure if this is representative of a typical Chinato.
Choke full of herbal and spice notes: anise, cinnamon, clove, licorice, menthol, and raisin. Not as sweet and viscous as I would expect out of a dessert wine - I can see it as an aperitif also. There is subtle yet persistent bitterness throughout, which I happen to like. — 3 years ago
