10 yards in the barrel before bottling; very smooth, 14.5% alcohol, limited edition of 4,000 bottles, round and complex, just beautiful. — 5 years ago
The 2013 ‘Sur Echalas Vineyard’ Grenache is simply captivating now at the six year mark. An aromatic melange of teaberry with wet stone, pomegranate seed, Umami and iodine greet you, showing some thrilling range right upon opening. The palate shows off its silky texture that gently glides across the mid-palate. Ripe red fruits dance with shades of blood orange zest, cigar ash,, damp earth and stony tones that all collect momentum on the palate. Thrilling at this stage in its development, the 2013 Horsepower ‘Sur Exhalas Vineyard’ Grenache will provide drinking enjoyment for at least another seven to ten years. Coming from an exceptional vintage, the 2005 Viña Tondonia from R. Lopez de Heredia is a compelling blend of Tempranillo (75%), Garnacho (15%), Graciano and Mazuelo (10%), all sourced from their estate vineyards and aged for six years prior to bottling. This sensational wine opens with a bright bouquet of leather, cranberry, orange rind, forest floor and suggestions of black tea. Showing incredible focus and poise, this balanced Rioja is framed around flavors off leather, red cherry, teaberry, Mandarin orange and pipe tobacco that sit alongside brisk minerality, as the wine shows tremendous freshness and length through the long finish. This is an absolute stunning effort from this storied Estate and should continut to drink beautifully for years to come. Drink 2019-2035- 94 — 7 years ago

Beguiling nose upon open- reminiscent of 19th century general store candy counter. Violets, teaberry, strawberries & molasses with undertones of cedar, charred wood and vintage hawsers. Foresty on the palate with ripe berries and cedar. Long finish. Needs time to bleed off the tannins, likely a solid wine over the next 2-3 years. — 9 years ago
Not a powerful hit on the nose but subtle cherry notes come through. Up front is a nice fruity tang of cherry and teaberry. Mid palate has deeper berry feel with some light earth tones. Back cigar tastes and black fruit shows up near the end. This is good with an Italian cuisine or a red meat like smoked brisket or fillet Mignon. Nice! — 3 years ago
Mule berry on the nose. First taste brings out Blueberry and Teaberry. Fabulous finish of licorice and mild tobacco. Lovely all around dark current blend. Nice. — 6 years ago
The 2012 ‘Laurene’ Pinot Noir by the talented Veronique Drouhin is a stunning effort at now seven years of age. Very pretty red rose petals aromas connect with shades of peat moss, white truffle shavings and black fruits, with smoky undertones that round out this fantastic nose. The palate has an incredible combination of freshness and richness, with gobs of minerality. The balance imparted is gorgeous, as vibrant minerals collide with ripe red cherry, guava, teaberry and cran-pomegranate flavors. While a delight to enjoy now, this is only starting to come of age. Racy! A little red sports car. Highly kinetic with crunchy strawberry, cranberry, and wineberry (R. phoenicolasius) on a prominent, angular skeleton. A faint touch of barbecue spices runs the last few yards of the race as the fruit fades. Quality stuff. — 7 years ago
Blackberry on the nose. Starts off with muleberry and develops into teaberry and honeysuckle. Very smooth. Great Barbera. — 8 years ago
2008 Vosne-Romanee. This wine was pretty but not gorgeous. First sip was still all primary fruit but the mid palate lacked depth and the acidity was out of balance. The wine comes from Vosne not 200 yards from DRC, but as we know, in Burgundy terroir is everything. I'd have this again but I wouldn't search for it. — 9 years ago
Love this vineyard, Vincent and team rock. This wine is delicious, refined with a wonderful finish and fruit that goes on for yards!!! Enjoy!! — 5 years ago
Just a great, Oregon Pinot that was smooth and had great texture. Like handing the football off for 3 yards up the middle. A reliable winning wine for any occasion. — 6 years ago
Pepper spices and Himalayan salty ness. Earth tones of water crest and teaberry. Some limestone tinges and slate. Dark fruits are not light and not heavy but mid pallet plum. Very different taste. — 7 years ago
Agree! Strawberry. Dry enough. Bing Cherry and teaberry. Some spice not too much. Fine currents on the end. Finally light tannins with a hint of licorice. Nice. — 8 years ago

Honeysuckle on the nose and first pallet. Flowers and cream on the mid-pallet with the Grenache showing most dominant grape. Smooth mouth feel and ending slightly sweet with earth tones of blended light colored fruits and teaberry. Great sipper moving from cold to cool. — 3 years ago
