This is mountain cuvée Rhinefarm vineyard Sonoma Valley. 69% Merlot, 27% Cabernet, 4% Franc. Long ago in a far away land I was a club member at GunBun. I really enjoyed the wines made there by Linda Trotta. This is my last bottle. Back in the day when they were allowed to call it Mountain Cuvée. 2001 was a cool tannic year and this represents the vintage, but it’s one of the reasons that’s it’s holding up this long. You’d never guess 2001. Dark red color, fruit and tannins with a smooth finish. This is old school in a very good way. — a year ago
Nose faint but nuanced. Apple, an astringent note like a vinegar, maybe kumquat. Restrained. Glass #2 at Asta with Marmot #1. (Glass #1 an unremarkable rose.) — 3 years ago
