Adelaide Hills Shiraz 2018

A nice mix of black/blue/red fruits, lightly spiced, Medium to full bodied, feels like a bit of whole bunch (?) nicely dry savoury finish, tannic, crisp acidity. 93 as I thoroughly enjoyed sitting at their new cellar door with the afternoon sun filtering through the gums. — 6 years ago

@Bob McDonald it was ok! surprisingly easier than I thought (same went for my partner Niki). I think it took about 2 weeks to really feel the difference, at which point yes, sleep was better, starting the week felt better (we do drink more fri/sat/sun), all in all a good break that also saved us some money :) However … having a nice glass of wine is a real pleasure both in the taste aspect, but also the social/shared experience angle. Also a good reminder of how much drinking is baked into our society (with both good and bad ramifications). Coming out of it, as mainly a red drinker, I’m also seeking out more medium bodied styles vs the bigger reds I have probably leaned to in the past - sort of a taste re-alignment.

Mappinga Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc 2014

This is such a gorgeous wine. So pleased i bought 6 of them. For a split second it's reminiscent of oaked cool climate chardonnay before it's tropics kick in to gear. Lingering and persistent, tangy and fresh yet it's lees time brings it all together through its creaminess. Notes of lemon zest, passionfruit pulp, fresh cucumber, guava nectar, vanilla syrup and toast. — 10 years ago

Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir 2020

Mid to pale Ruby in colour. Lovely aromatics of red cherry and strawberry together with a herbal whole bunch influence and a touch of oak spice. The quality of a good Village Burgundy at a fraction of the price. Reinforces the quality of Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir. This wine cost the princely sum of $25.95 and won the Trophy for Best Pinot at the Adelaide Hills Wine Show. Remarkably easy to drink at such a young age. — 4 years ago

Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2017

A: clear, pale yellow
N: citrus and green apple
P: dry, light, fresh, subtle simple flavors of apple, grape, smoke, and floral nectar that work surprisingly well together. Great balance. Flavorful but not powerful. Outstanding at that price.

Reserve Mappinga Adelaide HIlls Shiraz 2012

Ripe, big but savoury with great length and fine sweet tannin that seems to come from nowhere. Black and red fruited, complex. Would never have picked it as an Adelaide hills shiraz. Many thanks Seth and Magda! — 8 years ago

Really enjoying these guys Gris. Cheap as dirt for a bonus. Nose delivers the pear, pear cider and confectionary green apple. Plenty of acid adding to a lengthy finish — 11 years ago

Mappinga Adelaide HIlls Shiraz

A syrupy, bang-filled, typically South Australian Shiraz. We drank this after a day of bubbles - prosecco and champagne. This was a decided move across to the other side of the board. Robust and powerful and yet went surprisingly well with leftover cold cuts. — 11 years ago
