Montecastro Crianza es un espectacular vino de la Ribera del Duero que año a año va cambiando el coupage en función de la calidad de la uva de las fincas de la propiedad, predominando la variedad tinta del país o tempranillo. Esta variedad procede de viñedos con una antigüedad muy desigual, de entre 6 a más de 100 años. La vinificación se realiza en depósitos de hormigón termorregulados, realizándose una maceración en frío durante 2 ó 3 días, siendo la fermentación espontánea y la maceración de 15 días aproximadamente. La crianza es novedosa ya que se realiza no sólo en barrica de roble francés y americano, sino que también se le da un toque único mediante barricas provenientes del Este de Europa. Es de color rojo púrpura, siendo en nariz muy frutal, parcialmente especiado notándose ligeros toques minerales. En boca es untuoso, cremoso pero sin ser empalagoso, con una elegancia muy superior a vinos de su misma categoría. — 2 years ago

Paid €25 for a half bottle at L’Osteria di Giovanni. A nice Chianti Classico Reserva with a good full flavor. Would be nice to find in the United States at a reasonable price. I had a 2019 in January 2026. Just saw that this wine is available in the United States in the 750 ML bottle for $40 at wine Junction in Somerville. What a great price for a half bottle here in Italy at a restaurant.  — 5 months ago

Cor vermelha com um tom já começando a ficar adobe. Demonstra corpo na taça com lagrimas lentas. O aroma é envelhecido, considerando ser um vinho de dez anos, bem ainda. Sente-se notas de álcool discretamente, couro e madeira. Na boca tem uma maciez surpreendente, tins alcoólicos e leve taninos, corpo, e harmonia e sabores de fundo que lembra chocolate. — 3 years ago
