TOR Barbera d'Asti Superiore

Just fabulous! Vines 85 years old and around 100 cases made. Had this at an enoteca in Italy.👍👍👍 — 2 years ago

Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese 2013

Terrific example of a Rosso from one of our favorite wineries in Montalcino. Recommended by Tony Sasa of Enoteca Ponte Vecchio, one of the two best wine shops in Florence. Terrific! — 9 years ago

Santa Lucia

Riserva Le More Castel del Monte Nero di Troia 2012

A terrific wine recommended to us by Tony Sasa, owner of Enoteca Ponte Vecchio (best wine shop in Florence!). Has an intense but restrained nose of blue and black fruits. Was a bit closed on the palate at first - probably needs decanting or, better yet, a few more years in bottle - but once it opened up it was full-bodied, balanced, and not nearly as tannic as I was initially expecting. Great complement to our mushroom ravioli/tomato-sausage ragu dinner! — 9 years ago

VO Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Corvina Blend 2004

A beautiful classic Amarone, and one of my favorites! VERY aromatic; tobacco, espresso, dried fruit and rosemary, and rose water on the nose, with a gorgeous spoonful of cherry cobbler, dried fig, vanilla spice, dried herbs, and a lingering spice on the finish. Drinks like an older vintage of Amarone used to with the rosemary notes, which is fantastic and unique for a very unique style of wine. — 9 years ago
