Bevan Cellars

Tin Box Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

I was very curious to try this 2018 Bevan Dr. Crane vineyard Cabernet, so I opened it and poured into the decanter as soon as the FedEx guy delivered it. It’s delicious and very different for a Bevan Cabernet. It has lots of tobacco leaf and herbs on the nose with the fruit playing a background role at the moment. For such a young wine, the palate has the caressing texture of pure cashmere. It’s really an outstanding wine. — 3 days ago

Napa cab night - very very good - totally impressed - love all Mr Smith wines

A classic big bold beautiful wine - from a vineyard right next to the famous Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard - amazing Juice with the textures, verve and anise undertones of its prestigious neighbors. Dark garnet to the rim with a slight purple hue, the clarity of this wine shows off its overall brightness, purity and depth- smells of dark and red raspberries so strong you don't even have to put your nose to the glass - this is definitely mid palate that is filled with spice box, herbs of Provence and mocha, setting the stage for rollercoaster of complexities and multi-level layers - true cornucopia of cool-toned red/blue fruits, graphite and coffee undertones - 2011 is balanced, on point, long and focused - the subtle nuances and hidden layers are so evident
