Terrific purity, strawberries, plum skins, pepper. Hint of bitter pith. Lovely work. — 14 days ago

Nice. Love to drink Grenache made by people who believe it in religiously. Still waiting to snag a Comando G example.

@Tom Casagrande do you use Wine-Searcher? You can find the entry bottles and often at decent prices.

La Bruja de Rozas Sierra de Gredos Grenache 2023

Reminds me more of a Beaujolais. Earthy. Had my usually thick pork chop and a few glasses of this. — 2 months ago

GR 10 Garnacha Blend 2022

Nice restrained Spanish red blend. Great acid. Light tannins. Needs a chill, and then good accompaniment with Indian chicken kebabs with a bit of spice. — 3 months ago

Bodegas Riojanas

Monte Real Gran Reserva Rioja Tempranillo 2005

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. This bottle of the 2005 Gran Reserva came from a Library Release in 2022 so the cork was perfect. The wine pours a garnet color with a translucent core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart, ripe and some dried, mostly red fruits: Bing cherry, raspberries, plum, tobacco, leather, dill and assorted dried garden herbs, gentle baking spices and dry, dusty earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This is in a lovely spot and yet, has a long life ahead. Drink now with some patience and enjoy through 2045. — a month ago

Royal Oporto (Real Companhia Velha)

Quintas das Carvalhas Reserva Douro 2018

60% Touriga Nacional
20% Touriga Franca
20% Tinta Roriz

Dark purple color, with a lot of earthy components. Floral notes with a wooden accents, vanilla, and dark ripened fruit. All with a bit of leather. Nicely balanced with just a medium tannin structure. A lot softer than the flavors and scents give off. I think it’s delicious, and the 2018 is drinking quite primely right now.
