Rancho Arroyo Grande

Piedrasassi

Rim Rock Vineyard Arroyo Grande Valley Syrah 2021

It leads with black olives, then a touch of brett but pleasant, purple flowers, and a good amount of stony minerality. Very quintessential Syrah. A little bit of bacon fat and smoke. On the palate the body is light. Tannins are moderate and fine and it brightens up the profile with good acidity even though the finish is not very long. It's very clear what they're trying to do and they're achieving it here. — 2 months ago

Les Galets Arroyo Grande Valley Pinot Noir

Wonderfully perfumed and rich eight year-old Central Coast Pinot Noir, with fruit, acid, tannins and earth in harmonious balance. Got better as the night went on, and the leftover half bottle the next day was great—soft and approachable yet complex and delicious interesting. Rather Old World, I would say. Enjoyed the 2014 vintage with Livarot cheese and an artisanal country loaf. Magnifique! — 4 years ago

Rosemary's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2023

Smells like an Oregon pinot! Had a lot of minerality, almost a little graphite-y, with a slight tartness. Great! — 2 months ago

Zinfandel Noir Old Potrero Zinfandel 2014

Very, very hipster label. Plenty of info on the back. Color is excellent. Smells of older stuff. Books and attics. Maybe some cherry and berry stuff. Horehound candy. Flavors are amazing. Fruit of the tree and vine. A bit of smoke. Balanced. Aged great. I hope they still make this. — 5 months ago

1880 Old Vines Zinfandel 2022

Just about the best Zinfandel I’ve had in quite a while. Excellent balance of fruit and floral flavors. A light, but refined texture. It was an outstanding accompaniment to Thanksgiving dinner at my daughter’s new home. Got his at the winery for $60. #zinfandel #pasorobleswine #pasowine #thanksgivingwine — 6 months ago
