Podere Brizio

Podere Brizio

Riserva Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2010

2010 now tawny in color. Very dry with secondary aromas of oak, nuts, some earth, but maintaining a good degree of dark fruits. Paired with homemade brick oven pizza. True Tuscan gem here. Strong but smooth tannins match the pepperoni and peppers. — 2 months ago

Vinous Favorites
9.0

Podere Brizio's 2013 Rosso di Montalcino impresses for its overall balance. The flavors are bold and juicy throughout in a forward, generous Rosso to drink now and over the next few years. Bright red cherry, raspberry jam, flowers and mint grace the translucent, highly expressive finish. (AG) — 9 years ago

What a great tasting wine. The body of this wine is not heavy but tastes like a full body wine. — 7 years ago

Podere Brizio

Dievole Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2017

Pale garnet in color, this wine presents pronounced aromas of macerated cherries, with subtle hints of menthol and dry earth. I did not notice any floral notes.

On the palate, the wine confirms the nose, displaying medium-plus tannins and medium acidity, with a medium finish.

I believe this wine could benefit from a couple more years of aging in the cellar, although I really enjoyed it. I look forward to trying it again in 2027 or 2028.
