Rhonda likes very much. On a par with knob creek. Make sure it is the single barrel. — 5 years ago
This reserve release of the always superlative Pilot Hill Gang Cabernet Blend is labeled a Cabernet Sauvignon, so this one is at least 75% Cab, with the rest most likely Merlot. There is a bit of oak to the body, but not overmuch. The tannic structure is big; imagine Rutherford dust turned up to 11 😸 The overall flavor might be described as dried black currant and unsweetened dark chocolate. Perhaps there is a splash of Petit Verdot in the mix? Kudos Mr. Parish! — 5 years ago
Nose: Leather, black licorice turning to green pepper notes.
A bit hot, it relaxes a bit with a decant. Short finish, the taste doesn't offer the depth and complexity that is suggested through the nose.

Picked it up for $5 at Knob Hill. Delicious bargain! — 6 years ago
How does anyone not hoard (regular) Sazerac at ~$25?!
Incredibly smooth, great sweet note to the finish. Again, why haven't I not been buying this for years...?
(BTW Kirkland Bourbon at $30 is worth the price of admission, earthy oak note on the palate is quite similar to Buffalo Trace.)
Counter-Clockwise from top left:
Buffalo Trace (single-barrel selection), Jefferson's Reserve Very Old/Very Small Batch, Knob Creek (9yo), Kirkland Bourbon (7yo), St George single-malt (SM 015), Hillrock (Ancram NY, solera aged, Barrel No. 174), Berkshire Mountain Distillers Shay's Rebellion and Wild Turkey Master's Keep (Batch 0001, 17yo). — 3 years ago
Still has some tannins providing structure, full somewhat reserved body with good clean finish — 5 years ago

One of the best merlots we’ve had in a long time. True representation of Oak Knoll! Opened an hour or so before and was great. — 8 months ago
