Hay Penny Mendocino County Rosé 2023

Pretty color of light peach with a salmon tint.

Fruity nose with red apples, tart strawberries, raspberries, cherries, citrus, minerals, sea salt, and light spices.

Medium-bodied with medium-plus acidity. Crisp and refreshing.

Dry on the palate with raspberries, strawberries, citrus, cherries, lemons, apples, light earth, herbs, and sea salt.

Tangy finish with limes and tart raspberries.

This is a very tasty Rosé from the Sierra Foothills in California.

Nice and easy drinking right out of the bottle. Well-balanced and elegant. Neither tart nor bitter, which I liked.

This Single Vineyard Rosé is good by itself as a sipping wine. Tangy and interesting.

100% Syrah whole-cluster grapes were fermented in stainless steel vats.

12.8% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

A great rye, and worth every penny at $25/bottle. Herbaceous notes with toasted almonds, caramel, burnt sugar, honey, spices. Really smooth, too 🥃 — 4 years ago

Penny Royal Farm

Penny Royal Farm Pinot Noir Rosé 2021

Love me some Anderson Valley flavor. Freeze dried strawberry and raspberry / berry pavlova on the nose with a tart, creamy palate. A wine that calls for fresh goat cheese (especially when I find myself eating a dairy free meal). — 2 years ago

Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2010

Fantastic —. Bit of a funky nose at first from the CO2 (it wasn’t decanted) but as it opened up it was delicious, powerful and well balanced — at Blue Penny Cellar, Constance Belle Marr, Mauritius — 3 years ago

Venge Vineyards

Atlas Peak Sangiovese 2016

Obviously Kirk Venge makes some great cabs, but I think sangio and petite sirah perfectly suit his style. The zins are a tad too jammy for me now. I do miss the penny lane vineyard sangio version from oakville for its tannins, structure, and liveliness, but this atlas peak vineyard makes a wine that is pretty graceful, serious, and drinkable. — 6 years ago

@Ron R i havent had too much of the sauv blanc (only through tastings). It’s solid but I prefer the vermentino for more acid.

Agreed, Penny Lane was quite a bit better, zins too sweet.
The Julianas SB was good not to mention the spettro white blend, but bought it at $10.00 on auction so maybe I wouldn’t of enjoyed at Release price🤷🏼‍♂️
