The Fabric of the Land Napa Valley Red Blend 2018
A blend of Petite Sirah, Merlot, Zinfandel, and Petit Verdot, Quilt pays tribute to Napa Valley’s wines, sourced from a patchwork of prime Napa Valley vineyards. Tried ‘17 recently, now ‘18. Deep Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruits, sweet herb spice and cedar. On palate flavors of blackberry and raspberry, slight jammy notes, smooth, with vanilla, oak and leather notes, well balanced. Dusty soft tannins, nice mouthfeel, on long finish ending with toasty oak and cacao tones. Consistent quality, has room to age. Tasting Sample! Like ‘17 better. — 4 years ago

Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Quilt pays tribute to Napa Valley’s wines, sourced from a patchwork of prime Napa Valley vineyards. Met Joseph Wagner on his trip to CT and tasted his wines. Beautiful deep red color with bold aromas of dark berry fruits, sweet spice and cedar. Flavors of blackberry and cherry, some herb with vanilla, oak and leather notes, well balanced. Fine tannins, great mouthfeel on lingering finish ending with cacao and espresso tones. Has room to age. Tasting Sample. Nice, but a bit pricey! — 6 years ago

Napa Valley Chardonnay 2019
Quilt pays tribute to Napa Valley’s wines, sourced from a patchwork of prime Napa Valley vineyards. Met Joseph Wagner a few times and tasted his wines, Joe signed a few bottles for me. Pale lemon color with aromas of fresh fruit, citrus and honey floral scents. On the palate flavors of apple, pear and lemon zest with toasty nutty notes. Lively acidity, well balanced on medium+ finish, great mouthfeel ending with creamy mineral tones. Very nice Joe! — 3 years ago

Deep Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruits, sweet spice and cedar. On palate flavors of blackberry and cherry, slight jammy notes, smooth, with vanilla, oak and leather notes, well balanced. The 2022 Chardonnay Arbois Patchwork was bottled in March 2024. Opening with some reduction, time in the glass unearths wet stone and lemon flesh aromas. Anchored by zesty acidity, the 2022 is a well-built and tensile Chardonnay that walks off the stage with a tidy finish. (Nicolas Greinacher, Vinous, August 2024)
