Celebrating two newly mint doctors in the family!
Bricked garnet. Transparent, clear. Medium width rim.
Bouquet of espresso, cassis, blackberry, potpurri, dry rose petal.
Structurally resolved. Smooth, agreeable traces of tannin. Med plus acidity. Medium bodied. Dry. Complex notes of cassis, blackberry, dark cherry, cattle range, newly ploughed paddy field, mineral high tone, light touched, floral perfume. Delicate but very much present.
Superb old school Margaux. No heaviness, no excess. A birth year wine that delivers. 93. — 9 years ago

Nose of dry fruit, similar to a port. Very smooth, continues with the dried fruit flavors in the taste. Dry. This is a very fun and unique Pinot. — 10 years ago
Having this wine at Rie's St. Paddy day... — 13 years ago
Still young! Opened up after St Paddy Day ended. Savory dark red fruits minerals on nose. Great stimulating firm texture and palate with long complex finish. Lean yet elegant. Whole case. AA35. Just 12.5 ABV — 5 years ago
Hay on the nose, taste of hay... really a lot of hay, if you have ever spent time in a corn or paddy field during harvest season, the smell of hay is the nose of this wine... amazingly authentic as if I am sitting in the farm and drinking the hay. The wine guy that served me the wine says there is a lot of almond. I am getting hints of honey and minerals. — 9 years ago
Beautifully smooth tannins, rich for a pinot. Perfect with lamb. — 9 years ago
Wow - what a surprise! I was hoping it would be good (good producer) but given the year and appellation I wasn't expecting much. It was delicious; very pale (like freshly pressed strawberry juice) but clear, with good legs; nose of healthy wet farm soil, fresh Irish chestnut mushrooms, autumnal mulch, with a hint of strawberry jelly coming through; complex, with a (very surprising) hint of tannins and good non-volatile acidity. Still good after an hour in the glass. Almost like an old Pinot Noir but more vegetal. A paddy wine - if there were vignerons in Donegal this is what they'd be making! — 11 years ago
