Steak night on vacation in the outer banks.
Having an Idaho vs Napa cab comparison. We went to Idaho for a wedding in June and purchased some local wines.
2014 Split Rail Winery vs 2013 Chappellet Napa Valley cab.
This is more elegant and balanced compared to the split rail cab. Dark fruit, tobacco, and earthy notes on the palate. This was $65 vs the $33 Split Rail cab price point. — 7 years ago

This is massive at 15.6% abv with equally big blueberry, cassis, smoke, and touches of lavender. Very surprised by how well this wine was! This was $33 vs the $65 Chappellet price point. — 7 years ago
Perfect for a 90 degree day on vacation in the outer banks. So refreshing! Sun dried strawberries, slightly tart lime zest, and watermelon. Mouth watering sea water salinity and bright acidity makes this amazing! This is probably the best rose I have had this year! — 8 years ago
Drank in the outer banks for our annual steak dinner on vacation. Huge 2in thick Filets with blue cheese, mushrooms, onions, and roasted fingerling potatoes.
Decanted for 60 min. So silky smooth. Dark fruits, and chocolate. Finish is great.
This is the only caymus wine I really enjoy. — 9 years ago
Unbelievable, buttery with an undertone of citrus but certainly even better with family and swordfish in the Outer Banks of North Carolina! :-) — 11 years ago
Part of gift basket from house owner Outer Banks. Impressive foam upon pouring with racy acidity and white flowers and fruits with a sense of sweetness in this extra dry wine. 100% Glera 11ABV and lively! As expected great in washing down mix of good local seafood from Blue Moon of soft shell crab blt fish taco fried oysters. — 5 years ago
Celebrating our annual outer banks vacation and this area being spared from the hurricane.
Creamy bubble with peach and stone fruits. Very good! — 8 years ago
Not as jammy as I’d expect. Very good. Had it in the outer banks flight tasting. — 8 years ago

For hot climates, like here on the Outer Banks, I love chilled Pinot Noir for all day drinking. This Marlborough Pinot has the right acidity to stand up to the spices and heat of the NC summer. — a year ago
