Very nice wine. Amazing for such an old wine. Showing its age a bit but still a fine cab. — 3 years ago
3.4. One of the more expensive Marlboro Sauvignon Blancs, but the best that i have tasted. Nice straw color and very fresh, complex flavors. Regular price $24.99. — a month ago
Very smooth gorgeous red. — 3 years ago
JAM A LAMA DING DONG — 4 months ago
Medium purple in color; blackberries, blueberries, and oak on the nose; medium plus acidity; medium plus tannins; tastes like blueberry jam, black plum, crushed gravel, and a little eucalyptus with a long finish. I really like this wine. Nellie likes it too. — 5 months ago
This inky, Merlot-dominant blend is a full-on Goth wine: dark currants, dark cherries, dark blueberries…
The oak is restrained and the jamminess is less than in recent releases. A bit of decanting helps to reduce the jam factor a lot.
I’m still not completely sold on the “new and improved” Langtry wine style, but I see this as a solid step in the right direction, perhaps someday restoring Old Soldier Road to its former greatness. — 10 months ago

See several previous Delectable notes on this wine and vintage. A pale crimson colour with tawny garnet shades. Aromatics of red fruits (strawberry) and Sous Bois on the nose. It may be pale in colour but carries a Medium plus palate intensity of good length. A very good 2nd wine from Bell Hill from the Canterbury district (just to the north of Christchurch) which deserves more recognition as a source of high quality Pinot Noir. Also referred to as the Waipara District. — 9 days ago
