Latest from Anspach & Hobday, Bermondsey in London...comp with Oddbins. Oak Smoked Blonde..literally one of the best smokes ales I've had. Much fresher than the smoked porters. Similar to a German smoked, Dunkliweisse and lighter than an English smoked porter. Delicious — 10 years ago

Clear, strong hints of brown, almost tawny, very deep colour. On the nose you get cooked and dried fruit (raisin, prune), forest floor, off plum and oxidative aromas. High tannins and medium acidity with a velvety silky body. Again you get the cooked and dried fruit on the palate, slightly woody. Long finish. Paid £30 at Oddbins. — 11 years ago
