Had it with steak fondue. It would have paired better with lamb or paella since the flavor was bolder. It didn’t linger long so it wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t paired well and that was our fault. We would certainly buy it again. Very tasty. — 7 months ago

A good year, a fine wine with balance and context. Good value. Red berries, light fruit and body medium; palate perfect with discernible tannins and dryness - right for a Barbera d' Alba. There are better Barberas but this is right for red meats, strong cheeses. — 6 years ago
Opened sometime before service; enjoyed in the company of Natalie Oliveros. The 2008 Brunello pours a deep garnet with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears and showing some fine sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous and beautifully perfumed with notes of Morello cherry, raspberry, dried red flowers, Pu-erh tea, cigar box, porcini mushrooms, dried green herbs and dry gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. This is in a fabulous spot and another example proving that the 2008 vintage from Brunello is squarely in its glow up phase. Drink now. — a month ago

This was a really nice and beautifully crafted wine. It’s not Barolo, of course, but it has a lot of the depth and character. We had a mushroom pizza and it really played off the earthiness. It was great with a sausage pizza as well. It could certainly have been aged for 5-8 years, but it was quite approachable on release. — 5 months ago

Opened sometime before service; enjoyed in the company of Natalie Oliveros. The 2015 Brunello Riserva pours a deep garnet with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of Morello cherry, raspberry, red flowers, black tea, tobacco, some varnished wood, dried green herbs and dry gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. This was a lovely pairing with venison. Drink now through 2045. — a month ago
