60 Syrah 40 Cab. After tasting many wines in the Valle de Guadalupe I conclude that Syrah is the winning grape. Often blended with cab, these are powerful but balanced wines. Not real fruit bombs, and also not overly tannic. Delicious! — 5 years ago
Spectacular Sauvignon Blanc tried in Oaxaca de Juárez, MX. Loved it so much bought 2 bottles when we got home. Dry but complex, wonderful full flavor but not overwhelming. — a year ago
Monte Xanic – Chardonnay 2020
Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California – Mexico 🇲🇽
Overview:
100% Chardonnay from one of Mexico’s pioneering and most acclaimed wineries. The warm, sun-drenched vineyards of Valle de Guadalupe impart a distinctive richness while preserving freshness through careful vineyard management.
Aromas & Flavors:
Tropical and expressive, with baked mango, ripe pineapple, and a touch of papaya. Subtle floral hints and a light buttery note give added dimension.
Mouthfeel:
Medium-bodied with weight and intensity, balanced by a lively streak of acidity. The palate carries a fine texture and lingers with a long, elegant finish.
Food Pairings:
Pairs beautifully with grilled sea bass, ceviche, roasted chicken with citrus glaze, or even creamy pasta with shrimp.
Verdict:
A Chardonnay that showcases Mexico’s unique terroir, warm, bold, and tropical, yet elegant in its balance. A strong reminder that Valle de Guadalupe is producing wines worthy of global attention. Cheers!

Pretty good for a 9 year New World wine. Has aged well — 2 years ago
Had the 2022 in January of 2024 with chicken tinga. What a nice little wine. Minerality and a touch of citrus with some floral on the nose. Hints of lime on the tongue and a hint of hibiscus on the nose. This was a lot like a New Zealand sauv blanc but with a softer punch. Enjoyed this and wondering about going through the hassle of obtaining this one again. Definitely would if it was easier to get. — 2 years ago
