Spanna is like Stefan Urkel. All friendly without the young austere edges that dominate further south. Maybe less complex, but fun for sure. @Delectable notes on the money. — 3 years ago
Worth the wait for the 2009. Dried fig, black cherry, anise, tobacco, violets, dust.. Tannins softened and just a little acid to keep things fresh. — 17 days ago
Medium bodied intense & complex wine. Good finish & balance. Aromas of dark berries, earth, smoke, herbs, licorice and spice. Excellent value for money — 3 years ago
1hr+ decant. Needed it. Deep dark red color w/purple rims. Nose had baking spices, anise, and subtle vanilla. Similar on the palate with dark fruit and a great texture. Classic Napa with Old World elements. Deep wine with solid finish. I love the G Major but this was really good too. Many years left. — 8 months ago
Ripe grapefruit, almost peachy - a little funk which blew off. Enough palate cleansing acidity to make this very moreish. A delicious wine which is amazing value at only $21.50 per bottle from one of the best Chardonnay producers in the New World. A big statement I know but try his premium Mate’s Vineyard and see what you think. Had my last one 31 weeks later on 28th January 2023 at Paros on the Gold Coast with consistent notes. A few days previous we had Leeuwin Estate’s 2nd wine called Prelude which was about 50% dearer than this Kumeu Village. We preferred the Kumeu. Astounding value for money and an annual purchase for me. — 2 years ago
This is a magnificent wine for the money. It drinks so well: tight mousse, strong yeasty brioche, clean acidity and a fruit, with some mineral on the finish. — 3 years ago

Short decant. Red color with subtle maroon tones. Lots of tea on the nose and a subtle herb that I can’t determine. Olives and herbs with more tea on the palate. On the lighter side. — 6 days ago
