White wine at Monaci resort — a year ago
A lovely earthy Zin (primitivo) from the third oldest city in the world. Lots of cherry. — 4 years ago
The nose is evocative of autumn on multiple sensory levels, with aromas of fennel fronds, chamomile tea, almonds, and tangerine that lead into a full but delicately rendered palate. Vitorchiano’s volcanic soils come through with a somber smoke-iron interplay, and glowing acidity lets the savory flavors coat the mouth, yet the overall impression is one of freshness and drinkability. — 2 months ago
Funky and high tannins…I really enjoyed this wine quite a bit. Paired with chicken, zucchini, olives…then chocolate. Was great with both. — a year ago
Delicious. Ripe red fruit are balanced by high acidity, savory leather notes, and tannin. — 3 years ago
Medium body, tart but not acidic, very well balanced and would love to try with a salmon dish — 6 months ago
Entry-level white wine from the good sisters of the Monastero Suori Cistercensi in Vitorchiano, under the tutelage of Paolo Bea. Blend of Trebbiano (45%), Malvasia (35%), and Verdicchio (20%) from organically-farmed vines rooted in volcanic soils. Fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and about 1 week of skin contact. Rich, ripe, complex nose, with aromas of pear skins, apricot, honey and notes of iron and herbs (fennel). Full-bodied, round, quite concentrated. Lovely chalky/mineral texture — 2 years ago
