Yet again a great match for Sakana with Hsing/Mimi but this time Vollenweider provided good competition. The Omakase was same as last time, last day of the monthly menu so a good comp. Wine #6 on Vinul Moldovei Vol. 1.

Look, it's not really my style, but this wine is delicious. A bit of a manly pussy-drink kind of delicious, but yeah. And believe me, there is no negativity here. Developed bouquet of prune, milk chocolate, cassis jam, blackberry, anise, Dominican cigars, and liquorice. Almost full-bodied, round and perfectly balanced. The aftertaste is persistent and flavourful. It's just the cherry on top of the cake. And I am being subjective here.

Mimi paid $29 for the bottle at Boston Wine Exchange on Devonshire. A nice, full, rich, dry, smooth Cabernet. Worth repeating when I need a $30 bottle. A step up from the usual $15 red. — 3 years ago
