2022 vintage. Tasted with the winemaker Matt Brady. Nearly equal (and maybe better) to the 2021 vintage. Jumped at the 2021 effort so no room for this one but absolutely delicious follow-up. Spice, tannins, fruit all in balance and verry harmonious. It’s Pinots like this that keep me sold on the Santa Rita Hills as dayumed likely the best pinot-producing area in CA. 03.12.25 — 7 months ago
Bought a case of this from Matt (winemaker) in 2008 when their tasting room was more of a shack. This is the last of the vintage and it’s just so good. A lot going on in this bottle still. Complex and earthy. Glad we waited! — 3 years ago
Bumped this up a couple point because president obama gave it a positive review! — 4 years ago

Someone else here described it as "chuggy juice" and I've never felt something more in my life — 9 months ago

First wine I’ve had from this producer and another notch in Matt Courtney’s belt. A really beautiful Sonoma Coast Pinot through and through with fantastic energy, texture, structure, and balance. Earthy berries. Stone fruits. Layers upon layers of aromas and flavors. Reads a bit hot at 14.1%. Stunning wine, but is it worth 2.5 times the price of Faiveley Mercurey? 🤷🏼♂️ — 3 years ago

128-year-old Mataro vines from the Spinelli Vineyard in Contra Costa County, the dark black fruit aromas and flavors seem unmistakably Californian, quite ripe, still shows lots of structure and old vine intensity, long, lingering finish, last bottle but this is another outstanding wine from Matt Cline!! — 2 days ago
