Slight floral quality to the edgy sweetness and gorgeous black fruit. I suspect some co-fermentation here (Viognier). Lovely, lively, and lithe on the palate. Plenty of acids here, so this will pair with nearly any meats. Just to reiterate, this is not your typical Paso syrah (no offense), but an elegant rendition of the grape. — 10 years ago
There's something very animal and unusual about this Cote Rotie, yet it manages to seduce instantly. By far and away the best bottle of a big flight in spite of its young age, with nice aging potential. Outstanding. — 8 years ago
Simply stunning from one of the best. A tremendous wine with structure and integrated fruit — 10 years ago
Last bottle at Hospice du Rhône 2018. Depeche Max pulled this out of his hat late in the evening while Yves Gangloff and Mark Adams (Saxum/Ledge) were jammin’ on a Dead song at the closing BBQ. . Fitting end to a great weekend. Still a stunning wine, — 7 years ago
This is nothing short of delicious. Rich and succulent noses of roasted pineapple, fennel, quince and the full tropical 🌴 fruit line up. On the sip it has that silky kinda oily texture. Dried apricot, peach, creamed plantain excite the entire palate. Bitter orange and bitters round out the smoked finish. Beautiful job Jeff Cohn and Yves Gangloff — 8 years ago
Superb Marsanne. Fatter and less complex than an Hermitage (at this stage) but also more forward on what I'd normally think are secondary Hermitage characteristics. 30EUR at La Grande Epicerie. — 10 years ago

“Night” cap of mixed melon oil can with bitterness bite on finish. Light-bodied. Wow. — 4 months ago
