Light and lovely. I had it with steak and it was a nice pairing. Gorgeous purple red color. Little like spicy berries. Peppery! When chilled, tastes of spicy peppery dark cherries. — 9 months ago
As a 41 year old bald celibate vegan in Bushwick, I shed one long tear just now thinking back to that summer in 2002 when I was teaching ESL in Osaka and followed the Japanese punk band YuraYura Teikoku in a Volkswagen EuroVan with my then Japanese girlfriend and her semi-erotic manga collection. — 10 months ago

Classic Rioja but slightly muted, with a vegetal/sour edge. After 2-3 hours it opened a bit and has more of a chocolate/earth/vanilla under tone... — 9 months ago
I know this one from Japanese manga Drops of God, finally got a chance to try it. 70% Carignan, 30% Grenache from old vines. Amazingly dark ruby color. Rich and concentrated on the nose. Blueberry, blackberry, plum, mint, black pepper, very earthy nose. Full bodied, medium acidity, I have to say this is some darn concentrated and focused juice. Very fruit driven, like an explosion of fruits, dried fruits also show up. There's subtle heat and sweetness on the finish but doesn't conceal the fact this is a great wine. Wow just Wow 😄 15% alc. 2011 vintage — 3 years ago

Perfection! This is one of the most nicely-balanced Spanish wines I have ever had. A whole that surpasses its individual parts — like the eagle in Dante’s Paradiso. A beacon of truth, justice, and light in the midst of terrifying uncertainty. While I don’t wish to reduce its power by naming its components, black tea and spice are noticeable flavors to my (admittedly) fallible palate. Buy again at Total Wine. — 8 months ago
So apparently this Barolo has been featured in a wine comic/manga (those exist?) as one of the 12 Apostles of global wine. Even though I’m no comic buff, do I buy the assertion? 100%. I wish I’d met this bottle earlier, but nonetheless found it spicy and easy to drink, yet so memorable. — 2 years ago

This is super impressive. It drinks really warm at 15% but that’s a good thing to the American palate. Big and fruity. Nice tickly long finish. This is the kind of thing I’d want to drink all the time. And the price is phenomenal. — 13 days ago
