Chambertin Grand Cru Tête de Cuvée Pinot Noir 2010

served blind w the Rousseau it frankly held its own. Not as layered or thick but a super wine that on its own would happily grace any table. What a shock when unveiled. — 2 days ago

Les Chaffots Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2013

There's been a lot of shade thrown on these wines and particularly, towards the wine maker...most of it probably deserved. As for some of the more recent low scores, there must be some bottle variation because I’m not gonna lie, this was a really strong showing. Popped and poured; consumed over two hours. Bruised strawberries, tart brambles, rhubarb, forest floor, and sandalwood. Tannins are well integrated…but still there. Acid is pretty high but perfect for a nice meal of whole, roasted chicken and root vegetables. The wine is otherwise quite balanced and if my bottle is representative, this still has a long life ahead of it and should drink quite well through 2030. My last of the Maison Ilan “Les Chaffots”. — 2 months ago

Hazelnut chocolate and berries are very dominant in this amazing yet simplistic wine. Long flavor and great mouthfeel, limited edition worth looking out for in the future. — 6 years ago

Les Monts Luisants Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2012

I have not had many Morey St. Denis wines and this one was not a disappointment at the price point. Clouded by Ray Walkers (in)famous legacy, the wine was nothing but truly burgundian in all its classic ways and literally cloudy in the glass (though no flaws). Beautiful nose with cherries, red currant, roses and forest floor aromas coming through. Very aromatic with a multi layered super long finish. Complex and well integrated wine that had the tannic backbone yet the delicate fluttery mouthfeel. — 4 months ago

Les Robardelles Volnay 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2013

Acid really pops on opening but becomes more integrated. Just ripe cherry and raspberry, black tea, slight new oak notes. Good length, still youthful — 4 years ago
