Super closed at first, with air, as it warms, it slowly unfurls. Starts to give up citrus, green apple, wet sea shells, and straw. Initially in the mouth it was almost emaciated and bitter, but over time becomes a bit more friendly. It still remains lean and quite crisp, with zingy acids. Not great depth. Flavor-wise, it’s much more about stoniness than fruit. Will revisit tomorrow.
UPDATE: Night 2 it has continued to open and is softer and more open. More lemony fruit is present and the finish is longer and friendlier. Upping from 8.8 to 9.0. If you’re drinking this in the short term, consider a multi-hour decant. — 3 years ago
Mmmm, clean and crisp! — 7 years ago
Domaine Vincent & Sophie Morey Santenay Les Hates shows a Ruby color with aromas of ripe dark fruits and smoky notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry and currants with tobacco and spice. Fine dusty tannins, long finish ending with fruit, tobacco and sweet spice. Drinking well now, will improve. Small case import. — 2 years ago

Lovely Chablis with roasted chicken ($29) — 2 years ago
Do: Chablis
Bodega: pierrick laroche domaine des hauries
Vi: les chatillons Chablis 2017
Tap: Diam10
Aroma: poma àcida, pera i llimona
Gust: sec, al principi, els gustos apareixen sobretot en el moment d'empassar (llimona) però de bon principi s'hi troba en gust de poma àcida i de pera. Persisteix a la boca el gust de les tres aromes combinades. — 3 years ago

Popped and poured. Nose initially shows ripe apple and orchard fruit, a classic brothiness, a waxy, almost Semillon-like note, brittle dried sea shells. Intense in the mouth, with big but crisp fruit on entry, diving way to low-toned, deeply mineral flavors that are so intense they’re a tad bitter in the back half of the palate. Nice acidity for such a large-framed Chablis. Finish is quite long. Showing almost no oak influence. — 4 months ago
