Color - burnt red with some bricking and a bit cloudy—a savory look indeed! Nose - dark deep cherry, smoked meat, pencil lead, gravel and notes of mint, cream cassis vanilla and with a subtle funky spice at the tail end giving much character to the wine. Taste definitely does not disappoint—an immediate creamy feel and dark cherry, savory, spice initially hits the pallet followed by cocoa, graphite and a smoke like aged vanilla long finish. Dusty tannins linger long after each taste. Loving it!! — 4 years ago
The 2017 Passito di Pantelleria Ben Ryé is deeply alluring and layered, mixing a rich display of dried mangoes, apricots and figs with lifting notes of dusty flowers, citrus peels, and cardamom. It's silky in texture, achieving a contrasting balance of salinity and sweetness, and showing grilled pineapple, peach nectar, clove, and honey. Tart orange-infused oily textures linger incredibly long, along with a salty note of toffee and exotic spice. The 2017 doesn’t have the glycerol weight of some of the best vintages, yet makes up for it with loads of character. (Eric Guido, Vinous, June 2021)

The nose is full of citrus - lemon, lime and bit of orange, a splash of grapefruit - with some excellent minerality and salinity on the other side of the scales. The palate follows suit, with an acidity level that is nice, but not quite as racy as I expected. Minerals linger on a finish that serves as a lovely reminder of a beautiful sip of white wine.

With >200 yrs of family history in Rheingau, this producer naturally grows mostly Riesling, but this PN is stunning. Medium-deep ruby brick color; nose of red and blue small ripe fruits, pronounced spiciness, and new oak but in amounts best described by the Swedish word ”lagom” (just enough); low alcohol but with a respectable structure from acids and small tannins, mouthfilling and a long finish where violets, mint, strawberries, and herbs linger. — 3 years ago
Rose buds and grapes, purple fruits; beaten against the rocks, suffocated at high altitude and fed a thin diet of air and cool sun. An up-front approach, not much to linger. Fleeting and delicious. — 5 years ago

Cherry menthol nose, Dark berry and strong spice with pepper. Long, seductive linger. Definitely time to drink, hitting peak with relaxed tannins. — 2 years ago
