Note, in 2019 hail cut yields by 40%, Deep Ruby with concentrated aromas of ripe dark fruits and spices. On the palate flavors of black cherry and blackberry with leather, licorice and smoky herb notes. Fine tannins, hints of oak on medium+ finish ending with fruit, herb and earthy mineral tones. Nice! — 2 years ago
A ripe, soft style. Nose has earthy, crumbly granite, beef blood, iron, and purply berries. Mouthfilling and soft, the dark flavors have roasted herbs, iodine, unsweetened dark chocolate, and pungent berry ooze. Acids on the low side, but nicely-textured and full of flavor. Good value. Weirdly, the cork says “Domaine des Chemins.” That leads me to wonder whether this is essentially a negotiant buying and marketing fully-made wines. — 2 years ago
@Delectable Wine this is the "Le Chemin Empreinte" cuvee. 2017 vintage. disg. 3/2023, 5 g/L dosage. Wow, excellent. — a year ago
So lovely!
Aromas: Peach, lemon, mineralogy, Granny Smith apple, unripe pear, acidity present on nose.
Mouthfeel: Brightly acidic beginning; good body (med), with smooth texture.
Flavors: Meyer lemon, fresh & underripe peach, grapefruit pith background, honey tangerine in back of mouth. Jalapeño & sweet mango finish.
Overall impression: Fresh; great with spicy foods if you want to accentuate the spiciness. Accentuated & lingering. Generally satisfying & complex.
Pair with: Spicy foods (if you want the heat accentuated.) Sweet, crisp salads, eggs, brunch dishes, light & medium-creamy dishes.
Environment: Warm, sunny mornings; cool afternoons and Indian Summer lunches with affectionate felines. — 2 years ago
