Voix De La Vigne

Red Mountain Cabernet Franc 2019

Probably the best CabFranc I’ve ever had. 2019 Voix de la Vigne - Red Mountain -13.5% abv. - Washington State baby!! BelVilla vineyard. Incredible nose on this low alcohol cabfranc. Blueberry boysenberry. The opening palette is filled with rich, dark fruit and followed with a beautiful spicy chocolatey, graphite oak. The finish is slightly dry and leaves you wanting another sip as quick as possible. Good Lord. This is low alcohol and drinks like a high alcohol wine. Buy Buy Buy! — a year ago

La Voix du Periscope Viognier 2018

Such a great wine to finish out the decade. Who would have ever thought I’d love a Viognier this much? Good acidity and minerality, and the skin contact keeps some of the intense aromatic qualities of Viognier in check. A very balanced and interesting wine. La Voix Here And Heaven 2016

Wow. Totally surprised by this wine. As I understand it, La Voix is an offshoot from Steve’s flagship operation, Palmina (the best Italian varietal-based wines outside of the Old Country, IMHO). I was a bit skeptical at first - was concerned about it being over-oaked like the one vintage of John Alban’s Perra Docs North offerings that I’ve had - but this is terrific (and an amazing QPR). Definitely has an old-world flare to it in terms of acidity and minerality (more Chablis than Burgundy), but with CA fruit through and through. Do yourself a favor and try one of these! — 4 years ago
