Color of concentrated black tea, a bit copper tone. Nose of crayon, alcohol spice, fermented grains, and strength of alcohol. Taste is amazingly smooth, with chocolate, sweet baked apple, sherry , and mineral note, silky, and a bit gasoline note, I have no clue how you make a 100 proof this smooth. — 7 years ago
2012 Sta. Rita Hills pinot, Lompoc Wine Co. Really high acid, nice cherry fruit. Food friendly. Lighter in body, almost herbal? Not a ton of fruit at first, may open up. @Joseph M. should try this! — 8 years ago
Josh Phelps - sone of Joseph has done it!!! For 65 bucks you can get a high end caliber wine that is as good if not better than any 100 dollar California cab I have ever had. This is his 2015 Steady State red wine. Bouquet is rhubarb pie and soft purple violets. The beginning is dark fruits and berries followed by a mellow vanilla and chocolate mid palate. The finish comes very slow and delivers an Earthy tone with a mildly dry Finish. I am also drinking the Collusion 2016 blend from Washington and it is better for a fraction of the price - 22 bucks!!!!! Steady State rocks. But for the price, try the Collusion!!!!!! — 6 years ago
This wine rocked it with family movie night. Initial palate reminded of a smooth St. Joseph. Oddly it was best pop and pour the first hour or so... then seemed to shut down, not even opening the second night. The movie "Sing" I give a 9.5 and recommend finding some little friends to watch with. — 7 years ago
Joseph Phelps’ son Josh has done it!!!!!!! Josh Phelps wanted to make an approachable wine for people under 100 dollars. This is 22 dollars and holds its own against any 100 dollar cab Blend I have ever had and its from WASHINGTON!!!!! Holy crap. I am so impressed. I am also drinking his Steady State which is 66 dollars, and is equally as good with more perfume flare on the nose and more merlot blend on the tongue. But for 22 dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am buying a case of this Collusion 2016 red wine! This will be my new go to house wine!!!! To sum it up:SMOKY, red licorice bouquet, blackberry and dark currant beginning with a twist of raspberry. Vanilla and butter follow with a French oak following. Earth and spice notes on the dry finish. No sourness noted after decant of 20 min which was evident at first. OMG .. 22 bucks???? Really? I love You tube and wine tasting videos! What a find! You Rock Josh Phelps. — 6 years ago

Nose of blueberry, warm spices, dark chocolate, cured meat, and hint of violet. Full body. Dense yet lively on the palate. Plush tannins. Long elegant finish.
95% Syrah from Carneros and 5% Viognier from St. Helena, co-fermented.
Deliciously approachable, but will age gracefully for 10-15 years. — 3 years ago
