Not all of the great Oregon wines come from Willamette. Excellent depth in this brooding tempranillo from Hillcrest in the Umpqua Valley. — 12 years ago
A fine pounded Peter. 2016 base of 70 P 30 C, disgorged Nov 2021. The better the cru, the less bubbles and chill for me to enjoy it. Thoroughly. - at Frenchy’s Hideout in Hillcrest. — a year ago

Very nicely made Tempranillo with complexity and power from Oldest winery in Oregon. Southern Oregon $28 — 12 years ago
More fallback than first pick red blend, but easily solid in my view. Label claims dark cherry and toasty oak, which I do pick up but I could use more detectable toasty oak. The dark cherry is more easily detectable than the oak for sure, so having stronger oak would really drive this up in rating for me. It’s slightly on the dry side but not excessive. Still, I have no problem honoring the barn built in 1900 based on this admirable tribute. I don’t quite know who RoxyAnn is, but I do hope to one day purchase produce and leave payment in the honor box at the Hillcrest barn. — 3 years ago

Pretty special Aussie Pinot. Crushed rock, baking spice and fresh cranberries. Fine bones, beautifully ethereal, yet penetrating and intense. Loving it. — 11 years ago

Reticent nose but generous palate. Punching above its class, give it air and an hour. - at Frenchy’s Hideout in Hillcrest — a year ago
