Year in and year out, the 7XX series by Jacquesson is, to my palate, one of the finest NV champagnes money can buy. They were one of the first to openly declare their base vintage for their NV champagnes by using this series. No. 743 is based on the 2015 vintage, a warmer year, and the wine displays the roundness of the vintage with aplomb. The nose is incredible; fresh and pure like a smell of an alpine breeze on a sub-0° day. Light red and orchard fruits. On the palate, gratuitous fruit with green apples, pears (think those “wind-scarred” Harry & David, Royal Riviera pears) and minerals. There is plenty of acid for lift which also contributes to the length on the finish. This is a hedonistic edition of the 7XX series, delivering immense pleasure already. You could probably age it, but why? Disgorged August 2019. Over 215,000 bottles made. — 3 years ago
On the Lawn at Tanglewood this afternoon with the Boston Pops Orchestra. Our conductors are David Newman and John Williams are leading a diverse program of cinematic works composed by John Williams entitled "Across The Stars: Music Of John Williams". We'll enjoy pieces from Star Wars (various episodes), Harry Potter, E.T., Memoirs of a Geisha and many others. All works to feature the violin virtuoso, Anne-Sophie Mutter, a personal favorite soloist of ours on these hallowed grounds. Mr. Williams has rearranged many of the selections today to better feature Ms. Mutter, an exciting afternoon will lay ahead. 🎼🎻
Nose has mashed strawberry/banana and cut red delicious apple.
Palate has sweet strawberry, banana peel, ripe red currant and light green herb notes.
The wine is 100% DeChaunac, a more common varietal for colder climates, like Ontario; fruit is sourced locally (FLX region) from Sheldrake Point.
The 2018 may just be the finest version of this wine to date, so juicy and expressive on the palate, just beautiful for this warm afternoon. — 5 years ago
Pleasantly surprised! Nice earthy flavor with some good fruit. — 2 years ago
Gift from Dawn and Mike. Very good. — 3 years ago
I’m very pleasantly surprised by this merlot. The cork was very dry but the wine had a floral nose, fruit and jam taste with hints of spice. Great with the dry rub ribs I made but also as a table wine. — 4 years ago
One of my favorites from Premiere Napa Valley 2020. #pnv20 #pnv2020 #napa Only 5 cases. Staglin clonal selection of Cabernet Sauvignon
A second generation Martha’s Clone, originally planted on the estate in the 1960s by André Tchelistcheff
Single barrel selected by winemaker Fredrik Johansson as a roto fermentation and aging in the same barrel
Your wine showcases opulence, elegance, nuance and complexity
This is the first time we are creating single barrel selection of the Staglin Clone Cabernet Sauvignon for Premiere Napa Valley. Harvested on Oct. 26, 2018 from our Rutherford Bench estate vines that were originally planted in the 1960s by the famed Andre Tchelistcheff and repropagated in 1990 under the talented hand of David Abreu. Winemaker Fredrik Johnasson selected these grapes for an in-barrel roto fermentation where the wine currently ages awaiting its future owner. One of the greatest vintages we have seen on our estate, this wine showcases the opulence, elegance, nuance and complexity our Cabernet Sauvignon has become known for.

A nicely aging monopole Chardonnay, loving the lightly oxidized yellow fruits.
Nose has oxidized, yellow apple skin peel, papaya and medium oak more notable today than prior bottles, albeit not distracting but embracing.
Palate has creamy, tropical fruits, over-ripe lemon and light minerality.
Just an exceptional bottle, likely the best of all the 'Clos de Malte' 2011's we've enjoyed to date. — 5 years ago
