It’s been years since I was able to try this expression that was the second edition of the now completed Private Edition releases that culminated with “Allta”. The purpose of “Finealta” was to reimagine what Glenmorangie might have tasted like long ago when the distillery managed their own malting floor and used more peat for fuel. This bottle has been well preserved and it’s divine with just a kiss of peat. Sort of reminds me of Tale of the Forest. — 3 years ago

Said to be an element of oldest and rarest stock (35 to 40 yrs) stock of the distillery - chocolate raisins orange nose, butter pudding Carmel, lime, cashew, spice favor with dried floral finished. So rich like having a toffee, so delicious! — 7 years ago

Rich, unctuous, honey suckle and crème brûlée...a finish that lasts for minutes. This is a tremendous expression of the Glenmorangie that was deftly finished in Côte Rôtie casks. Dangerously easy to drink. — 8 years ago

Another year, another Tale from the creative mind of Dr. Bill. This time around, the focus is on the wood and in this case, the additional finishing in Mizunara casks. The Japanese oak is notoriously difficult to work with and I guess the casks leaked like crazy…but the expression is wonderful. — 3 years ago

I’ve been fortunate enough to have enjoyed many a pour of Signet since it was first released to the market. This bottle has, by far, the most expressive impression of chocolate I can ever recall. A rich and rather decadent version of Glenmorangie. — 3 years ago

Ardberg is a typical Islay Malt with the dials turned up a few notches. This is very peaty and smoky with seaweed notes. The flavours are bold with the Alcohol turned up slightly to 46%. I prefer these peaty Islay malts to the more refined Highland Malts like Glenmorangie. Both are in the LVMH Stable. — 6 years ago

Straw color. Aromas of elegant smoke, toasted nuts, and marzipan. Wildflower honey, almonds, and cereal malts rush forward on the palate. Long finish. Very nice 10 year SM! — 7 years ago
