Leone D'Oro Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano Sangiovese Blend

2018 vintage. Every sip is a wow. Perfect tannins. It’s the bottle you finish way too fast because it’s way too delicious. — 10 days ago

Leone D'Oro Rosso di Toscana Sangiovese

Jan 3, 2017. On special at Total Wine. Love the Leone d'Oro Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, tried this Rossi di Toscana. This is very nice. Great balance, deep color, full bodied. — 7 years ago

Barolo Nebbiolo 2017

lovely barbaresco in a barolo disguise.

100% nebbiolo, a blend of different vineyards.

2 years in big barrels & one year in the bottle before release.

14.5% abv.

lovely 👃of flowers, earth, and 🍒 jam with clove.

medium body.
medium nicely integrated tannins.
high acidity.

ripe 🍒 swimming in jam, raspberry, earth, tar, roses, tobacco and coffee.

long 🎯 with a pleasant alcohol burn.

while my hair (or what's left of it) was cut i texted my wife suggesting she'd open a bottle to have with dinner.

came back to a great dairy only lasagna and this wine poured with the bottle covered with blind tasting sleeve.
the pale color left no doubt that she chose the barolo from the fridge.

took about 2 hours to fully open up but was great all along especially with the high acidity of the tomato sauce of the lasagna.
was about the same the next day.

loving nebbiolo so much.

Riserva Barolo Nebbiolo 1997

Big Boi. Tasted it next to the 98 which was lighter and showing more age. Also next to 01 and 03 giacosa Barolo. Which were also slightly lighter and more linear. 03 w/ more stewed/cooked fruit from the very ripe vintage. But the 97 finish was "endless ". — 10 years ago

Figli d'Italia Rosso di Toscana Red Blend 2011

Great fun! Had it with pizza at our local BYOB Italian place. No decanting, but it didn't seem to matter.
