A gift from the Italian Chamber of Commerce event, this is much better than expected.
A civilized Aglianico yet retains its rustic charm. Supple and easy drinking. Tannins are quite refined for a Aglianico at this age.
Taburno is one of the 3 Aglianico DOCG’s, Taurasi being the most famous one. — 4 months ago

Gravel and lemon rind on the nose. Honey, green apple, green pear, mineral, lemon, and grapefruit on the palate. Slight citrus rind/seed astringency. A good bit of alcohol for a white. Very rich and deep. Really singing now. Raging Aglianico tannins have been mellowed by 12 years in bottle but are still prominent with a bit of grip. Dark black fruit but tart, loads of acidity. Well balanced. Would have liked a bit more nose. — a year ago
