The 2020 Crianza is a 100% Tempranillo from Pesquera del Duero. Aged for 14 months in American oak barrels, it's garnet-red with a purple sheen. The nose offers strawberry, herb, undergrowth and oak aromas. Dry and taut on the palate with finely-grained tannins and a compact profile, this is a flavorful example of a Ribera red. Notas: Una de las casas productoras favoritas de la casa Gómez, viñedos del viejo mundo reconfigurados a una visión Gourmet Moderna. Una experiencia necesaria de degustar, el alma de su artista creador en cada sorbo. — 3 years ago
In 1972, Alejandro Fernández & wife Esperanza Rivera of Pesquera de Duero initiated the renaissance of Ribera del Duero appellation with area's first modern wire-trained vineyard, their Viña Alta in Pesquera. Their entry level wine is a great value. Deep Ruby with aromas of red fruits and clean spice. Palate shows flavors of red berry fruits, vanilla, spice, and licorice notes, vivid acidity. Firm tannins, medium finish ending with spice and fruit character. — 4 months ago
Delicious! Smooth, velvet and goes down easy. — a year ago
This wine was an absolute treasure, full bodied and well balanced, I picked up a bottle of the merlot Syrah because I loved it so much — 4 years ago
The 2019 Pesquera Reserva is a 100% Tempranillo from Pesquera del Duero, aged for 14 months in American oak barrels. Garnet-red in hue. Presents blackberry and plum aromas with vanilla and oak undertones. The palate is dry and juicy, featuring taut, reactive tannins contributing to a velvety, medium-bodied texture. Bold right now, it should mellow with age. (Joaquín Hidalgo, Vinous, November 2023)

Provided by a friend for a go deep on older wines dinner pre-Christmas. Initially concerned that a storage mishap earlier in its life may have done some damage, but once opened for 20-30 minutes, it really started to sing nicely. 31 year old Ribera del Duero from a time when you still needed to know to buy these wines on release. Deeper than a Rioja, so good dark fruits, tobacco, horse leather, and the like. Enjoyed with standing rib roast and more than held its own with Bordeaux from the same year and other delicious wines. — 3 years ago
