La Comme Santenay 1er Cru Pinot Noir 1999

2021/5/15 with pan-roasted skirt steak, sautéed broccoli and kale, etc. This is the first among these selections with an unmistakable, rich bottle bouquet. It has a dark, gamy character which is reminiscent of a Northern Rhône red - perhaps a Côte Rotie. Perhaps the character of 1999 is in play here. There’s still a strongly aromatic layer of fruit which reveals itself with air - strawberry coulis and crushed raspberries. — 4 years ago

Marsannay Pinot Noir 2018

I had to think hard to figure out if I liked this wine. Some might argue that this alone might be justification for disapproval, as questions of doubt signifies a level of indigestibility in the wine. Ultimately, I felt the nose was too delightful to warrant a score lower than 9, which was all dark cherries and strong spices, followed by smoky incense and floral nuances. A little awkward and closed for me on the palate. The vintage's ripeness was certainly on full display, and velvety texture was quite enjoyable, but it offered no more than that even the day after. It sure provided some food for though, but I wouldn't be touching another bottle until 5 years down the line. — 3 years ago

Morey Saint Denis Pinot Noir 2018

30 min woke up. It has lots of deep aroma. Black plum, blue and black, cherry and berry. Deep. One of the best among Liu dumon. 2018 @1710, xuaduo - Lazo, 220318-220323 — 3 years ago

Léa Sélection Fixin Pinot Noir 2010

2022/5/31-6/1 with ayu karaage, hachiku several ways, niku-dofu, etc. This is my favorite of the lower-priced Léa reds - there’s really nice acidity and flesh, and enough age to be fully open with hints of complexity but still with vibrant fruit. Really good on day 2 as well. — 3 years ago
