Keefer Ranch Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2008

2008. The 2007 Keefer Ranch was one of my highest rated wines ever. The 2008 has similar flavors, but less intense, and a little more savory aromas. Glad I opened it first while we were waiting for the duck to finish roasting because the Walt I opened after had a little more acidity and tannins to cut through the duck fat. — 4 years ago

Nice wine but for some reason not quite singing at the same level as the last bottle we had. A trip to Oregon wine country - including a visit to Evening Land - was the first pandemic related trip we had to cancel. This is still a very nice wine with great balance between crunchy cherry and more earthy notes. Long finish with good acid, and a nice pairing with duck breast with a cherry sauce. — 6 years ago

Decanted 60-90 min. Aromatics are in a great place right now. A punch of violet is followed by black pepper and a whiff of bell pepper. Tannins are well integrated on palate...more violets, dark berry fruit, rocks. An obvious and excellent pairing with both duck and venison.
