Delectable: this is Visan Cotes du Rhone AOC.
These are night 2 notes.
This is an unusually tight Southern Rhone. Tight, and not particularly exuberant ripe kirschy-cherry notes, with lots of very clean cracked stone minerality and a nice lavender floral note. Very pure and linear cherry fruit and stony mineral flavors. Some very fine-grained tannin in the finish, together with crisp acids. This will be better in a year. In the meantime, give it air.
Night 3: more complete and integrated. Still fresh, but the fruit and minerals are fusing to create more weight in the midpalate. Bumping to 9.0. But let this age, or if not, breathe "bigly." — 8 years ago
Delicious Languedoc Chenin - textural and serious. — 2 years ago
This is a fun one for me. The winery sits on a limestone outcrop where Charlemagne had a large fortress. His warriors in the Roquetaillade were legendary hardos who famously ate sword tips in their salads. Hilarious!
This red blend is a highly extracted red that needs a lot more time in the bottle to mellow out, but drinks spectacularly once it relaxes. Briar and charred oak, blackberries and dark moody fruit.
The Roquetaillade warriors wouldn’t even need sword tips in this. — 3 years ago

Yummy, rich, floral. Was a pleasure to drink. 12.8abv. A 2010, the aging mellowed this out nicely. Big fan. — 5 years ago
