Pop and pour. Purchased at domaine..weirdest tasting I've been to, but fantastic wines. On the nose: soft pepper, black raspberry, black cherry, nuits animale, soft spice. On the palate: dense NSG fruit. with loads of brambly blackberry, fantastic acidity, spicy sandalwood, and very finely grained tannin on the hi-toned finish. Yum! — 3 years ago

What was weird about it?

@Joshua Fisher my French is passable: I can get by in a dinner party for non-French speakers, lol. Our tasting was in 2017 and close to the Fr. presidential election. We were dancing around wine and politics...The conversation turned to terrorism and racial profiling, and I was fairly certain that M. Chicotot was telling me that I shouldn't be offended to be pulled aside for "extra screening" in Charles de Gaulle airport...or anywhere else for that matter.

Excuse me…. You had wine with Monsieur Chicotot???? If I was screening wine people , I would certainly pull you aside for ‘extra screening’. How amazing your tastings and time with great producers !!! I wish I was you. I would like to be your best friend ….

This was a superb village Burgundy that punched well above its weight. At first reticent, but opened up nicely to become a vibrant, acidic, fruity pinot noir that would probably benefit from some years lying down still. — 5 years ago
