Spicy but well-balanced Bordeaux with a fruity finish. One of the better French wines I’ve had in a while. — 3 years ago
2008 vintage. Catherine Papon-Nouvel produces excellent organic wines (also at her three Saint-Emilion estates Gaillard, Clos Saint Julien and Petit Gravet Aîné) and I consider Peyrou 2016 one of the best values in Bordeaux. Therefore I was very happy to find a bottle of 2008 to see the ageing potential, and it was a pleasant surprise. Fully mature, but by no means tired. Even if the tannins are a little rustic (rather typical for the vintage) and it could do with more length, this is great value at 13 euros and a strong case for the ageing potential of Côtes du Castillon wines. — 4 years ago
One of the best Pinotages I drank. The glass was perfumed with fresh truffle before the wine was poured. Remarkable experience jn the La Colombe wine cellar. @Kay Delectable this is the coastal pinotage — 7 months ago
Lovely from magnum. At first pure cedar, later red fruit & tobacco bomb— still great sweetness and acidity. Not the oomph of prior reviews, suggests starting to fade. Terrific length. La Colombe d’Or was kind enough to serve with their chicken; we couldn’t have been happier. — 2 years ago

Avec Tania et François. Un peu de la folie mais en fin de repas, quelle plaisir — 3 years ago
Accessible #cotesdebordeaux, earthy but opens up pretty quick, bracing acidity and tannins are a bit rowdy but nice Bordeaux at this sub-$20 price point from #wsjwineclub. — 5 years ago

Vintage 2018 | I do not know wines of Donatella Cinelli Colombini that have disappointed me. This cuvée is new to me. The dragon in the label is Carlo, Donatello’s husband. The 8 doves on the label are the women who made the wine. This is the first Italian winery staffed by women only. It’s a bit curious for the grapeblend that is used is unusual: 60% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot and 20% Sagrantino. Purple red colour. Beautiful cherries in smell, vanilla and a hint of cacao. Very vibrant taste with good acidity. I paired this dragon wine with a diabolo spaghetti. A sauce of San Marzano tomatoes and red pepper, pancetta and minced beefmeat. — 5 months ago
