Château Fombrauge

Château Fombrauge

Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend

2010 vintage (Bernard Magrez bought the estate, the largest Cru Classé in Saint-Emilion in 1999). Blend of 80% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 8 % Cabernet sauvignon. Modern style, drinking beautifully now. Nice truffle nose, and smooth, velvety taste. Not the most complex, but excellent value. — 12 days ago

Monthly WTF guys blind tasting group. This month was our annual, and famed, Left Bank vs Right Bank theme. All wines served blind as usual. Started off with a Rosé and a champagne. Great night.

Not familiar with this producer. Very soft with a fantastic nose of plum, smoke, licorice and bacon fat. Palate showed baked fig, juicy blackberries and currant. Thanks

@Shay A , Bernard Magrez owns several estates in Bordeaux and around the world. His most famous is probably Chateau Pape Clement. I think he may bottle some Napa wine as well. Cheers.

Château Petit Fombrauge

St. Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend 2012

— 2 months ago
